DC Fandome 2021 Returns October 21 2021!

Given a choice between Marvel and DC, I’ll always go Marvel. It doesn’t mean I don’t love DC, but the company LOVES its reboots, which means reading their stories is an exercise in frustration as something will come along and wipe all their lore to start over. Thankfully DC Fandome 2021 isn’t a crossover event or a *insertnamehere* Crisis.

Like last year’s event, DC Fandome 2021 will have a smorgasbord of stuff. These range from comics (duh!) to movies to games and lots more! I just scrolled through the press release DC sent out and I can tell it was jam packed with events!

If you head on over to the DC Fandome 2021 site, you can also see what’s upcoming for the event.

My current favourite thing about the site?

Free comics!

There’s not a huge variety, with only Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, Flashpoint and Injustice but they are great starting points for the upcoming movies based on these properties. I’ve read both Injustice and Flashpoint before and can definitely say they’re worth the read…especially Injustice.

If you’re unfamiliar with the brand, Injustice is an alternate DC universe where Superman is a dictator who controls the whole world. After the Joker killed Lois Lane (and Superman’s unborn child), Kal-El snapped, killed the Joker and decided the only way to prevent future tragedy is to take over the world.

It’s a dark take on Superman but I love it.

DC’s making it into an animated movie (which will be shown off at DC Fandome 2021) so that’s definitely one of my most anticipated reveals from the event.

Other than that, I guarantee there will be a boatload of surprises in store. I’m crossing my fingers for Injustice 3 as a surprise reveal alongside the animated movie! The first look of Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam also has me intrigued…though SHAZAM bored me to death. Hopefully, it’s not a repeat of that.

Gamers can also look forward to Gotham Knights (which @ribhigni is salivating over) and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Gotham Knights is a meh from me, but I’m definitely intrigued by the premise of the Suicide Squad game and you should be too!

If you’re even remotely intrigued, make sure to mark October 21 on your calendars!
