Humans are capable of both goodness and cruelty.
Sometimes, even when we try to do better, there’s still going to be mistakes littered along the way. None of us are perfect and never will be; that’s an inescapable truth.
However, some humans are beyond these classifications and better suited to be addressed as monsters. That’s right; monsters are quite real and alive. One such beast was scarring a young girl from the age of 9, and it might be prudent to put it down.

According to MustShareNews, the beast was none other than the father of the young girl. He had been sexually abusing his very own flesh and blood from the age of 9 to 15. Regrettably, the girl chose to keep the problems hidden to prevent her family from tearing up. She suffered in silence to protect the peace, which is disheartening.
Thankfully, the issue has now been made public, the girl is safe, and the man has since been sentenced. However, the sentence of 25 years of jail and 24 strokes of the cane seems insufficient for the crimes he committed. He deserves more for sexually abusing his kid, and I’m not the only one who agrees with that sentiment.
Even Amrin Amin, a former member of the Parliament of Singapore, was horrified by the incident and addressed it as an act of depravity. And just like Amrin, we are also overwhelming saddened for the young girl.
If only more could have been done to help her all those years back…

And while I’m glad the father got his due, I’m still in disbelief that no one in the family knew about it. The young girl lived in the house with her three brothers and mother, yet no one knew about it? Or did everyone chose to ignore the problem out of fear?
No child should have to suffer this way. And just by reading about it, it’s making me incredibly uncomfortable. Which goes to say, I can’t even begin to imagine what the girl might have been going through all this time. Hopefully, she gets the help she needs and manages to pull herself out of this horror before it consumes her.
And if you’re someone who is suffering a similar situation, say something. Let your voice be heard; do not suffer in silence.
