Karen is often used to describe white women (sometimes men) who use their privilege to demand their way of the world as they see fit in the US. This way of thinking usually leads them to racially profile Black people and calling the cops on them for no good reason at all. And the worst part, they tend to get away it.
Here’s a prime and recent example of SoHo Karen aka Miya Ponsetto who falsely accused a minor male black teen of stealing her iPhone and attacked him. Thankfully, the boy’s father, Grammy award-winning trumpeter Keyon Harrold, managed to stop her and protect him.

As it turns out, SoHo Karen’s phone was lost in a Uber ride and was later returned by the driver. Now, if the roles were reversed or if the father had not been there to control the situation, that boy would most definitely be in cuffs and jailed or worse shot dead. But since it’s not a Black person, period, nothing has officially been done yet, and she’s still walking around freely.
It’s sickening to see that even the law in the US are choosing to react differently depending on what colour you represent. It’s a clear cut case of an adult woman assaulting a minor, yet no arrests have been made.
