Twelve Cupcakes are in trouble for underpaying employees.

Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has always had strict policies regarding a person’s wages, and if that right is threatened; there’s no escaping. Twelve Cupcakes, one of the most well-known cupcakery in Singapore, is learning that lesson in the hardest way possible.

On December 10, Twelve Cupcakes pleaded guilty for underpaying seven of its foreign employees for almost two years.

According to the Court documents, the company had indicated fixed monthly salaries that ranged from $2,200 to $2,600 to the employees. However, they were only paid about $1,400 to $2,050.

The sentencing of this case is expected to take place on January 7 next year by District Judge Adam Nakhoda.
