According to a tweet released by Andrzej Zawadzki, Senior Game Designer of CD Projekt Red (CDPR), on his Twitter account, developers had begun receiving death threats after the delay got announced. He goes on to explain that it’s wrong and they are just people too, which is entirely accurate since we are all just trying to make a living at the end of the day.
The reason for this overreaction of some people seems to have come from a tweet from Cyberpunk 2077’s official channel. In it, players got a confirmation that without a doubt there would be no more delays for the game. And since that didn’t turn out to be true, they are taking offence for being misled.
However, despite CDPR apologizing and explaining the situation, some are just too blinded by the rage to see reason. Zawadzki even revealed one of the threats to show how serious it was with people willing to threaten a man’s family over a game. It’s scary to see the lengths that some people will go to get what they want.
