One donation drive is allowing residents to take & donate food items right under a void deck.

As Singaporeans, we maybe sort of kiasu at times, but hey we still got heart. And it’s very significant during this pandemic, as many people are gladly doing their part to help one another without expecting anything in return.

TheJumaatInitiatives was started by Hazwan Tahir and his friends, a group of volunteers, to give what they can back to the needy residents while urging others to lend a hand as well. By utilizing shelves under a void deck, it allows the needy people to take what they need without feeling shy while allowing others who wish to help to leave items within it.

The project has been doing well so far with more and more people coming forward to leave donations, and hopefully, this will inspire more people to do the same.
